FLOW

I just read this really interesting article about Flow from Patagonia, what it is and why we feel it etc. I couldnt agree more and just have to share it, so enjoy reading..♥

You are out surfing on your own. Someone else paddles out, comes up to you and says, “How long have you been out here?
” You think as hard as you can. In the end you take a stab at it and tell him about an hour. But the truth is you really don’t know – on one hand it seems like a couple of minutes, but on the other hand it feels like you’ve been out there forever.

If you really have been deep in concentration, your world will have been reduced right down to what you see and feel in your immediate surroundings. Nothing exists apart from you and the waves and maybe the wind or the odd seagull. All that stuff you were doing earlier this morning seems like something in the distant past, almost from another life. Your mother-in-law, the traffic, the bank manager and the shopping have simply ceased to be.

Your surfing is effortless, almost as if the surfing itself is doing it for you. You feel like a passenger just along to enjoy the ride. You’ll be paddling back to the line-up after each wave without the slightest effort, feeling like you could go on catching waves forever. You are living in the moment, enjoying surfing for its own sake...

HOLES IN THE MAP - SEA MOVIES

Sometimes unplanned trips are the way to go. Without building up our expectations, we are more willing to accept inconveniences—like getting kicked out of a makeshift camping spot in the middle of the night—as opportunities. Setting out on a last-minute trip, Jen Smith, Mele Saili and Jenna Balester only had one fixed goal: make it to Tofino, B.C. for the Queen of the Peak surf competition.

I have to say occationally you get this feel good  feeling watching certain stuff. Well If you like surfing you got to love this absolute fantastic surf short film, the only bad about it, well it is just to short.
Love the music, surf and surroundings ...watch for yourself♥

Happy Saturday everyone

ALMOST CUT MY HAIR

For you who have missed this retro inspired absolute fantastic surf trailer for Almost Cut My Hair a zero budget surf film containing approximately 96% pure surfing coupled with an original sound track.

The film features an extremely diverse quiver of contemporary surfboards from single-fin mid lengths to high performance fish variations, 5' nuggets all the way to the finless freedom of the RabbitsFoot experiment. All boards in the film are made by Ryan Lovelace. Containing imagery, musical and/or surfical talents of: Travers Adler, Trevor Gordon, Michael Kew, Landon Smith, Will Adler, Morgan Maassen, Ryan Burch, Troy Mothershead, Ryan Lovelace, Ari Browne, Johnny McCann, Phil Browne, Joseph Horswell, Washmen and the Fisher, Simon Murdoch, Charlie Parr, Connor Lyon and piles more...
I am watching the trailer over and over again love these long scenes of surfing, like those surf movies from the seventies and just got some really heavy expectations.
Relese date is in end of May, cant wait...

LINEUP - A SWEDISH SURF NOVEL

Jonas Terning a journalist and also an avid surfer. He has been traveling around the globe writhing about surf for several years,  yeah you know a cool dude that love surfing and writing. I meet him for the first time a couple of years ago here in Hossegor, when he was down writing a reportage for the Swedish xtrem sport magazine Transition.
So last year he told me that he had this really interesting project going on, he was writing a surf novel. I remember I was thinking Wow, thats cool havent heard about something like this before.

So here it is the novel Lineup - The first Swedish surf novel about waves,  love and life (so far only in Swedish but who knows).

The plot is about a guy Jonathan leaving Sweden and broken promises to go surfing in Australia, ending up in Manly (Jonas lived there for a while, knows the place pretty well) While there he falls in love in the ocean and a girl...but things doesent goes is way and he ends up selling drugs..
